But no! There are several places here where nature will amaze you with its beauty. One of them is Hathni Kund in Jaipur. Where you can visit Kund behind Charan Temple, Hanuman temple Hathni Kund. While this trek of Hathni Kund at Nahargarh passes through a lush green area covered with trees and bushes. This location is uncommon to most people as this is far away from Jaipur and also there are no roads from Charan temple that lead to Hathni Kund. As the place is far away from the city in between the lap of nature. Anyone can admire the beauty of this place after trekking here. This Kund behind Charan Mandir is one of a kind and attracts many folks looking for trail fun.

How to reach Hathni Kund

This is the trekking spot located 17 km away from Jaipur, this is the hidden gem of the pink city. You can reach Charan Temple according to your convenience from Jaipur.

The trek from Charan Temple to Hathni Kund at Nahargarh is approximately 4 km. (Both side) Just for everyone to understand the route better I created a vlog on my YouTube channel.

You will glimpse one of the best views of sunrise at Jal Mahal. Jal Mahal is located in Mann Sagar Lake. Both the sunrise and sunset are beautiful to watch. The best time is from 6 am to 8 am and after 4 pm to capture the evening sunlight glow on the Jal Mahal, and after sunset to capture the palace lights. Charan temple remains a well-known landmark on the way to Nahargarh fort. Before starting my trek with my friends we thought to visit the Charan temple premise. It was a wonderful site beyond my imagination the view from there was astonishing. The Jal Mahal can be seen from there and green cover of Aravalli ranges. Trek started to Hathni Kund in Jaipur

There are two ways to start your trek, one from the right of Charan temple and another from Vidhyadhar Nagar jungle. But we took the route from the Charan Mandir this is the place where we started our trek and ended at the same place. Meanwhile, the way was uneven I will suggest you wear trekking shoes. This place is full of Anogeissus Pendula trees lush green plants after watching this you won’t believe you are in Jaipur. But I will recommend you trek in a group as in this place you will encounter wild animals like panther and snakes. However, you will find many groups heading there. As the place is extremely crowded during monsoon because the best view seen during the rainy season. You will explore many species of beautiful birds and a variety of flora on this trail

Hathni Kund at Nahargarh

When I reached the top of Hathni Kund I was amazed to watch the beauty of the place and couldn’t resist taking pictures. The place is far away from the hustle-bustle of the city. you can sit there for a long time to soak the beauty in your eyes. After sitting there for a while we headed towards the kund. While there were already many groups enjoying the waterfall and there is another Kund besides the Kund. The place was almost full as it was the weekend.

This water is present not just in the monsoon but even in the following months of the monsoon. But the waterfall can be seen only in the monsoon due to the rain.

The waterfall appears to be the most beautiful phenomenon in this world. Its real beauty and peaceful effect are always incredibly tremendous for almost everyone. The elegance and magnetism of waterfalls are so enormous that no one can avoid confessing ‘amazing view’.

And watching water tumble off a rock face into a pool or raging river beneath. The noise it makes, the sheer volume of water – it’s magical. The giant rock from where the water was falling seems to be thrilling from the Kund. Furthermore, the most important thing I love to do is clicking pictures. I clicked the picture of my surrounding and mine too.

There were two ancient temples situated there shiv temple at hathni kund near waterfall zone and another one is Hanuman temple. There is one caretaker of this temple, Sheoram where I had a conversation about Hathni Kund about his stay & how he lived there for so many years.

Hathni kund name origin

Hathni kund or Kund behind Charan Mandir is derived from a local Rajasthani word relating to one of the four directions. Many people say that the origin of the Dravyawati river in Jaipur is Hathni Kund. Thereafter it was named as Hathni Kund.

Summing Up

Finally, we returned to Charan Mandir, via the same trail. I had never been to this place earlier but no doubt. It was an amazing experience there and would love to travel there again and again. I will always suggest this spot to everyone who will visit Jaipur.

At last, The one thing that I was disappointed with was the disposable plastic glasses and bottles that were thrown around Kund behind Charan Mandir. It’s a request to everyone please don’t repeat this kind of activity. A reasonable process of waste removal is also a responsibility towards the environment. Be a responsible person think about nature. As a consequence, it will lead to extinct of nature, “save nature, save the environment”.

Throughout my entire life, I have always been an upfront and enthusiastic traveler as well as a travel lover. Whenever I had some extra money, I always used to travel in hills, seas, or jungles. But this time, I planned for a religious outing as this was equally important to me. I wanted to learn about Indian mythology by exploring the spiritual places of India, thus decided to first visit the Charan Mandir in Jaipur. Later on, I got to know that Charan Temple in Jaipur is an ancient Krishna temple in Rajasthan. It is a holy place of worshipping for Hindus. Charan Mandir at Nahargarh is a place where peace prevails.

When I delved deep, I discovered that the location of Charan Mandir in Jaipur is on the way to Nahargarh Fort. It is in the middle of Nahargarh Reserve Forest. Later on, my friends told me that what I discovered, that was only the Charan Mandir at Nahargarh. It is also on the way to Nahargarh-Jaigarh. My friends also told me that, I can see the footprints of Shri Krishna naturally inscribed here.

Besides that, I became attracted to the fact that the Charan Mandir in Jaipur is the natural home-ground of forests. I was sure of the fact that I will get to see many species of wild animals and birds in Charan Temple in Jaipur from my research. In addition to that, there are even complex and fortified walls situated at its perimeter. Charan temple in Jaipur also preserves a large water storage tank. Also for an instance, it is a commendable aspect that, I didn’t have to face any vendors, sellers of beggars in Charan Mandir at Nahargarh. This offered me an uninterrupted journey throughout the temple.

Fortunately, I was able to capture a moment from Charan Mandir at Nahargarh which is near to the Charan Mandir in Jaipur. I found out that, with the onsets of winters, the sunrise represented the sun in a very mild avatar. Mesmerizingly it replicated the color of a Marigold flower.

It was one of my very unique and exceptional memories from Charan Mandir in Jaipur.

We all know about this premier destination site, Rajasthan. There are a lot of surprises awaiting you. One such is OM Banna Temple, the sacred pilgrimage site near Chotila village, in Pali district. If anyone passes through the Jodhpur-Pali highway they make sure to visit the temple for a safer journey. For your information, the location is 20km away from Pali whereas 53 km from Jodhpur.

Strangely enough, it has an unusual deity of a motorbike. However, the secret local story about OM Banna Mandir many won’t believe. I am embedding a YouTube video from my YouTube channel. Story behind the temple

You must be curious to know the story behind it. The story is all about a Rajput person named OM Singh Rajput. Dated back in 1991, he was returning to his home Chotila. He was riding his bullet motorbike when he met with an accident. He hit a tree and died on the spot where OM Banna Mandir is situated now. Police intervened at the accident site.

To clear the accident site, on the Jodhpur-Pali highway. From below the tree, police shifted the bike to the police station. But to great astonishment, the bike went back to the same location where OM bana died. This incident happened repeatedly. The bike drove to the same tree by itself. Locals became aware of the incident and decided to build a bus stand near the tree. But, in course of time it emerged as an OM Banna Temple.

Relevance of the temple for locals

The place began to be considered sacred. It brought a source of income for the localities. Shops selling flowers and worship items sprouted. Travelers and localities gather in numbers to offer their prayer. Whoever trespass the Jodhpur-Pali highway stops to pay homage to bike baba. The majority of truck drivers stop for drinking water. But, mandatorily visit the temple dedicated to OM Banna motorcycle. People strongly believe that blessings from bike baba will make their journey safer.

The motor-bike God of Rajasthan has lots of followers. Local people as well as travelers, flock to the temple to pray. Flowers and even alcohol offerings are made to the 350cc bullet motor-bike in form of offering. It is believed if prayed with sanctity and devotion, the bullet baba will bestow is a blessing. How to Add GPS Overlays to Your GoPro

Hello to everyone using GoPro. How have you guys been? Hope everybody is doing great. I thought of writing this article to show you, folks, how to add GPS overlays to your GoPro videos. I will do a write-up and also will embed a YouTube video tutorial for you lovely people out there. Adding GoPro GPS overlays are simple.

You can easily add GoPro speed overlay, GoPro distance overlays, GoPro elevation overlays, and many other stickers to your videos in a matter of seconds. How to add GoPro GPS stickers to GoPro videos? If you ask this question to folks using GoPro action cameras, 8 out of 10 people would know nothing about it. Even though it is as simple as riding a cycle. Check out more GoPro articles.

Let me get right into it. PS: These stickers can be added in GoPro 5 and above. I have GoPro 5 and GoPro 7, in both the cameras these can be added. I love adding GoPro speed overlay and GoPro elevation overlay to my videos. They look cool!

What are GoPro GPS stickers or overlays?

I am a huge fan of red bull videos. Especially cycling videos, coz I am fond of cycling myself. In a lot of cycling videos, you might have seen the speed and distance stickers. GoPro elevation overlay, speed overlay, distance overlay are something that you can get on the videos by turning on your GPS in your GoPro. These speeds, distance, elevation, etc. stickers look cool.

GoPro offers a lot of other stickers and not just speed and distance. If you edit a video in their application known as Quik, you will get to see a lot of other GPS telemetry data as well. This data can be on your videos and make them look very professional. Look at the screenshot of the Quik GPS data overlays offered by GoPro.

GoPro GPS Overlay Stickers Types

it is quite simple. When you choose the first block option the logo of GoPro comes on your video. A lot of people like this logo being there, however, I do not. It just takes away a place that I could use for other important stickers.

Info Cluster

The info cluster option includes GoPro stickers like distance, altitude, elevation gain, and time. You will get all this information on the video when you click on it. In simple words, you get information about four data points. in Info Cluster.

  • Distance (KM and Miles)
  • Altitude
  • Elevation Gain
  • Date & Time

Speed Tracker

Speed tracker unlike speedometer does not tell you about the current speed at which your GoPro camera is changing it’s location but tells you the rise and drop of speed in a graphical form. I do not like this as such but good feature to have for those who like.

GPS Path

GPS path is a simple map that tells you about your current location on the route that you are. For e.g. if I am cycling around the city it tells me the exact location of my GoPro camera on the map.

Speedometer

A speedometer just a speed gauge that gets superimposed on your video and tells you the speed of the activity that you are doing. Very helpful in high-speed activities like cycling biking car racing etc.

G-Force

This sticker gives you the measure of how much g-force you are pulling as you accelerate or change your direction. For folks who are confused about the G-Force, A g-force is a measure of acceleration. 1G is the acceleration we feel due to the force of gravity. It’s what keeps our feet firmly planted on the ground. Gravity is measured in meters per second squared or m/s2.

Adding from your Mobile phone by GoPro App

It is very simple. All you need to do is import the video from your GoPro to your mobile app. Post importing the clip from your GoPro you need to edit the clip in the mobile application. Once you start editing the clip you will see a menu on the footer area like below.

You see this sticker option, just tap on it and you will see the submenu under this “Stickers” item. Below is what you will see on your mobile screen.

Once you have the sub menu opened on your mobile phone you can choose any of the stickers you see and get that sticker imposed on your GoPro footage. Below is the next step where you just need to save the video footage with stickers on your phone.

Adding from your desktop/Laptop GoPro App

The process is quite simple. The steps are the same when you are doing it on your desktop. Just a different interface to look at and work on. So instead of a detailed explanation let me give you the points which are easy to remember.

  • First, you need to connect your GoPro to your PC and download all the video files from your camera
  • Click the video you need to have these overlays on and click on “open in create mode”
  • Once you open the file in create mode and click on adjust gauges which is on the extreme right below the video
  • If will show up all the GPS telemetry overlay stickers, select the one you want on your video
  • You can drag the sticker manually or change the size as per your needs
  • After you are done click on save and the GoPro app will save a new video for you with the overlays which you selected

THM & LRV files in a GoPro

LRV & THM Files in your GoPro, have you seen them before? One of my friends called me the other day and inquired about LRV and THM files. What he did was he copied the media folder from his GoPro 8 not with the GoPro app, but just copy-pasted the folder directly from GoPro. Never do that friends.

There is a reason why GoPro came up with the GoPro Quik application for file transfer. These THM and LRV files in GoPro are a short abbreviation for low-resolution videos and thumbnails respectively. Having said that, this issue is more common when creating 4k videos. I have been using the GoPro 7 and GoPro 5 for quite some time now but did not encounter this issue in 1080P however, things are different when creating videos in 2.7K or 4K.

WHICH GOPRO CAMERA IS CAPABLE OF CREATING THESE LRV & THM FILES?

At first, I thought it is only the higher versions of GoPro that are capable of creating LRV & THM Files. However, when I starting digging deeper I realized that even the old GoPro’s were creating these files. Below is the list of GoPro’s that creates LRV and THM files.

WHAT ARE LRV FILES IN A GOPRO?

LRV is a short abbreviation for “low-resolution files”. The question is Why does GoPro create these files? Now imagine you capturing a 4k video in your GoPro. Now if you try to play the same heavy file in your GoPro to get a preview your camera would no nuts. Imagine playing heavy 4k video on that small device.

In order to deal with this issue, your action camera creates these low-resolution files. The preview that you get on your camera is a file that is created and is known as LRV or a low-resolution file.

The actual output that you see on your desktop or your laptop is the 4K video file which is heavy. In simple words, GoPro does not play the actual heavy files that are being created. Instead, it plays low resolution or LRV files on its screen.

WHAT ARE THM FILES IN A GOPRO?

THM is a short abbreviation for “Thumbnail”. Your GoPro makes it because there has to be a thumbnail when you swipe up to see the videos in your camera. Similar concept to a YouTube video. When you upload your video you also upload a custom thumbnail or else the YouTube algorithm picks the thumbnail up from the video itself. In other words, there has to be a thumbnail image for each video.

These thumbnail images are referred to as THM files. The image you see in the video above is a thumbnail image, just like in GoPro for your high-resolution videos.

WHY ARE THM AND LRV FILES NEEDED?

These files are needed because your GoPro cannot play the actual heavy video files that you create in an amount of higher MB value or GB. So low-resolution files are needed so that your camera can play the file on its screen in case you want to look at the preview. These files will always be created if you are shooting in 4k mode.

If GoPro does not create these files you would not be able to see the preview of your 4k videos. This of course will be a big issue as I always take a look at my footage once I am done shooting. I do this to ensure that I have exactly the same footage and same frame that I need for my vlogs and what I wanted in my mind.

CAN I PLAY THESE THM AND LRV FILES IN MY GOPRO?

Yes you can but they are poor in quality so it would be of no use. However, let me guide you on how to open these files.

HOW TO OPEN LRV FILE?

If you want to play an LRV file just change its extension to .mp4. This will change this low resolution into a media file and you can play it via any external player like VLC. The resolution and the quality of this file will be below average though.

HOW TO OPEN THM FILE?

You can view a THM or a thumbnail file by the same procedure as you used to open an LRV file. In the LRV file, you changed the file extension to .mp4. However, in the THM file since it’s a low-resolution image file you can change the extension to .png or .jpeg to view it. Isn’t it simple? However, you won’t be able to make use of this image file as the quality of this image will be extremely poor. It is meant only for viewing on the small screen of your GoPro.

WHY DO I GET LRV & THM FILES IF THEY ARE NOT USEFUL?

A lot of people follow the wrong procedure to get the video files out from their GoPro. When you connect your GoPro to your computer or laptop there are two ways by which you can get your video files.

COPY FILES DIRECTLY FROM ROOT FOLDER

Firstly, copy the root folder directly from your laptop or computer.

Do not copy your GoPro files by copying directly from the root folder of GoPro.

I connected my GoPro 7 black to my laptop and I got the icon as seen in the image above. Now I can double click this icon and get into the GoPro root folder and copy the entire folder. If I do that, the THM and LRV files will get copied as well along with the 4K heavy files.

However, I always advise people not to copy their files this way. This is a bad practice of copying files and something you lose your 4K files and copy only the low-resolution files. So never copy the files like this.

EXTRACT FILES USING GOPRO QUIK APP

There is a reason why GoPro did a lot of effort in creating Quik. This is because that software updated to its latest version knows what files to extract and what files do not. I always extract my files via the GoPro Quik app.

ALWAYS EXTRACT YOUR FILES FROM GOPRO VIA OFFICIAL GOPRO APPLICATION

So my advice would be always to use Quik to download your files from your camera. Else, there might be issues when copying the folders directly. Furthermore, this is such an amazing software, I mean the extracting is easy. You have the option of deleting or not deleting files after extraction. It is amazing customized.

DO I NEED TO SAVE THESE THM AND LRV FILES?

Not at all. You don’t need to save them at all. It is only the actual mp4 file that is of use. These files even if you save them will be of no use to you. These are temporary files and are only useful when you are creating videos in the GoPro app. Else if you are using any other video editing software then the heavy mp4 video file would suffice. If you accidentally delete them, don’t worry. Unless you are using the GoPro app to create or edit your videos you would do just fine. At the end you only need the 4k heavy mp4 file in external editors.

Surya Mandir in Jaipur as called by the locals is located on the route of Galta temple which is also known as monkey temple. History of Sun temple in Jaipur

Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II and his courtier Diwan Rao Kripa Ram played a significant role in constructing this temple in the 18th century. I love coming here in the morning as you get a spectacular city view.

There are a lot of ways to reach the temple. Let me list each one of them.

  • Easily accessible via public transport from all around the city. Local buses are the cheapest option although they are time-consuming considering the city traffic.
  • If you are multiple visitors then it is best to hire a cab to the temple. This is better than traveling in crowded buses especially at these COVID times.
  • Another way of visiting this temple is the fun way which is on a cycle. If you are fond of cycling. You get a cycle on rent and head towards the temple in the morning.

The reason why I mentioned the cycle is because of the fact that there are many trails around the temple on which you can ride your mountain bikes. No road bikes, no hybrids this is a place specifically for mountain bikers.

From Galta gate to Surya Mandir

Whatever means of commute you take you are going to reach Galta gate first. From the gate, you need to climb a cobbled pathway all the way to the temple.

This cobbled pathway is 0.71 km long and has an incline grade of 3.5%. This info I wanted to add in case you are a cyclist and want to come to the temple on your bike.

Along the pathway, you will see a lot of small temples. Each one has its own significance. When I go I make a point of spending time in each one of them. Especially if you get a chance to visit the temple in the morning be a part of the “Aarti” that happens. It is mesmerizing.

The temple opens up at 6 AM and closes at 7 PM. When we go early we usually reach before 7 AM as we do not intend to miss the morning Aarti.

Even though Sun temple Jaipur’s timings are from morning 6 to evening 7, this depends on the season too. In winter make it an hour later in the morning and in the evening come back an hour early. This is for obvious reasons that the nights are longer and days are short.

This place is beautiful but it is packed with wild animals. The temple priests have claimed to have seen leopards and panthers late in the evening. So just make sure that you are back before the dark and don’t stay till late.

These trails are amazing and even though it gets you a little warmed up and makes you sweat they’re worth it.

Baba ka Dhaba – What really happened

Social media is pouring crap these days. I just opened Twitter and found the food blogger who got Baba Ka Dhaba in limelight has been booked by Delhi Police under IPC 420 for alleged cheating. Baba ka Dhaba’s owner Kanta Prasad blamed Gaurav Wasan for getting the funds routed to him instead of Baba. This all started when a YouTuber by the name of Lakshay Chaudhary made a video and created a controversy.

It is getting so tough to help out people these days, isn’t it? I mean who would imagine that a Delhi-based food blogger would upload a video in which baba was crying as his business was badly hit after COVID-19 and got the video viral in a matter of hours.

However, this is disturbing on so many levels. Imagine you go out to help someone and then land into trouble with authorities for helping someone out. The same person you help puts the blame of forgery on you. Take the complete faith of mankind. Especially in the case of “Baba ka Dhaba”.

Let us take a look at the set of events in this entire drama.

What Gaurav Wasan did?

Gaurav Wasan is a Delhi based food blogger and runs a YouTube channel by the name of Swadofficial.

He just helped, that’s it. I mean maybe there was a hidden agenda behind what he did, but how does that matter. The question is did the help reached baba? Yes, off-course from every corner of the country.

He made a video telling his viewers about the food joint and the hardship that Kanta Prasad is going through.

Meanwhile, since Gaurav is so confident to come out in open with his bank statements, I think the fault lies with baba. So I decided to dig a little deeper and found out a few alarming facts.

Video went viral

Once Gaurav uploaded the video, it just went ballistic. People were sharing, re-tweeting, and posting on their profile. In a matter of a few hours, it went viral and got trending on every social media platform.

The video got 2 million vies in 24 hours on Instagram.

A lot of folks on social media who call themselves influencers started looking at this opportunity to ripe benefits.

Emotions sell too fast on social media. After the post went viral people started helping the couple out. They went to the food joint had food, poured in a lot of donations. Money was flowing from all corners of the country.

But it would sound great if it had a fairy tale ending right? So then a lot of influencers started making YouTube videos on this. Man food blogging is tough.

Then came Lakshay Chaudhary with his own version of what was happening

Lakshay Chaudhary a prominent name on YouTube with a channel that has over 200K + subscribers. Now, I did had a look at his channel and found that most of his videos are based on hate speech and making fun of others. It’s not his fault, people on the internet these days like filth more than sensible stuff. I mean look at Carry Minati. The guy literally made a fortune just by abusing people on the internet on his videos he calls roast. This is what is wrong with the internet folks these days.

Lakshay planted doubt in the owner of Baba Ka Dhaba’s owner Kanta Prasad’s head that there was way too much money coming in as compared to what he was getting. Also, the fact that Gaurav Wasan was siphoning a lot of money that was coming via donations. He did it through one of his videos.

Why did Lakshay Chaudhary do it? Simple to gain more views and subscribers as he knew that his content is going to gain traction as this was a trending topic.

Folks do anything for views and followers these days.

Baba Revolted

After the video made by the great self-proclaimed influencer Lakshay Chaudhary, something happened that was not expected. Kanta Prasad already had a huge sum of money in this bank account due to Gaurav sharing Baba’s account details with his followers. Luckily, the account got frozen by the bank as it got 20 Lacs in a matter of a few days which was not normal as per bank standard.

So now, baba had the money, he had people who can help him and he had Lakshay Chaudhary implanting stuff in his head. So what Baba decided was to go after Gaurav, knowingly or unknowingly with the stuff planted in his head. He lodged a complaint to the police and accused Gaurav of having more money which did not reach Kanta Prasad.

What’s happening right now

Imagine a person who was not able to make a few thousand in a month, had enormous funds at his disposal. First, he got his eye operated on with the funds he received. Well, that’s the only sensible thing he did.

He got a manager for his Dhaba, hired a lawyer, hired a social media manager, and then held a press conference. Phew….! That was a leap, reminded me of that singer who shot to fame overnight. Ranu Mondal!

The ego also overshot and his bad attitude was seen in a lot of videos surfacing online.

The aftermath of accusation on Gaurav Wasan

There are a lot of people who came out in support of Gaurav Wasan. I mean the guy was literally open to sharing his bank statements and his family’s statements open for clarification.

There were a lot of interviews which were held. In one of the interviews, while talking to a local radio channel, he couldn’t control his emotions and started crying. He spoke about what he and his family are going through. I am sure with the sick-minded people we have on the internet he must be facing tons of abuses from senseless people who do not know the facts.

But this tells you a lot about the character of the person you are dealing with. One gets on the seventh sky after crying and getting help from the country and one is so humble that he is willing to share his private bank details to clarify and starts crying.

This incidence not only has sparked a national outburst but also, tells us that each one of you needs to think twice before helping anyone out. Having said that I don’t think people would stop helping others just because this help did not pan out the way it was supposed to be.

Summing Up

Till now the momentum was in the favor of baba, however, slowly its shifting to Gaurav Wasan’s side. Reason being is Baba’s callous attitude and way of dealing with things clearly shows that money is speaking not the Baba.

A simple man like him should have run the Dhaba and left every bit of huss and fuss at its place. However, greed has no limit.

Now he is more busy in holding press conferences hiring lawyers and mangers. This is exactly what money does to a person when he has not seen it enough.
